To welcome back our Snowbirds at the Fenney Firepit party on Nov. 14, it would add a special touch if any of our musically talented members could bring their guitar, harmonica, or banjo (even spoons) and play us a few tunes around the fire.
This is a new experience for us and we are testing the waters at Fenney. To get you ready for the evening we thought we would pass along a few guidelines from the Fenney Rec Center.
The large covered and screened back porch will be available to us. The party will be moved there in case of inclement weather.
ID Required
The fire pit at Fenney is a Villages amenity. You may be asked for your ID or Guest ID.

Access the fire pit either by going around the right side of Fenney Grill on the nature trail or through the main entrance of the Fenney Sales Recreaton Center. Go to the back porch and the fire pit is just outside.
BYOB - No Glass Allowed- Coolers are ok.
If you plan to buy a drink at the Fenney Grill, bring a plastic cup to put it in to enter the fire pit area. You may bring a cooler. There is an ice maker in the recreation center kitchen in case of emergency.
Food
SLBC will provide some snacks. You may bring snacks to share. (not required) Some plates,cups, and napkins will be available.
No roasting or cooking is allowed on the fire pit. You personally can ask permission from the recreation center. The club does not plan to cook on the fire.

Bring your own chairs.
There are a dozen chairs at the pit and comfortable chairs on the back porch. None can be moved.
Long sleeves and bug spray are recommended.
In case of inclement weather, we will meet on the back porch of Fenney Rec Center and toast to our Snowbirds.
It will get dark. It may get spooky. Be prepared to shiver our bones with your ghost story.
